It’s always good to start any project with an idea of what you are planning to build. Without that initial blueprint, you could end up with a big hole in the ground instead of a house. A typical blueprint begins with the most common options and configurations, broken down into different layers (framing, plumbing, electrical, etc), where the customer can modify and customize to fit their needs. This is the same approach taken within the XenDesktop 7.5 and XenApp 7.5 blueprints.

A topic that has been generating a lot of interest within the Citrix community is planning and designing a XenDesktop 7.1 solution on Microsoft Hyper-V 2012 R2. Citrix Consulting is releasing a new update to the Citrix Virtual Desktop Handbook, which includes design decisions when deploying XenDesktop 7.1 on Hyper-V 2012 R2 and System Center 2012 R2 Virtual Machine Manager. In advance of the new handbook release, Ed Duncan presents a look into some of the design considerations in a four part blog series. The first two parts of the blog series covers some of the design decisions around networking and storage when planning the Hyper-V 2012 R2 hosts to support the XenDesktop 7.1 environment.
